Delia was the 2nd to the youngest of 5 children, 1 brother and four sister’s.
Delia married Eduardo Benito Gomez in El Paso, Texas, she gave birth to
Eduardo Gomez jr October 30, 1962, Annette Gomez April 28, 1964 and
Diane Gomez April 22, 1971. Delia and Eduardo were longtime residents of Santa Fe Springs where she loved to grow roses, tomatoes and extremely hot chilis. Delia became a proud naturalized citizen on October 22, 1993.
Delia worked mostly in factories, later in life she worked as a dedicated professional housekeeper.
Delia was a devout Dodgers fan who wore her gear with such pride,. If she could help it she would never miss a game (or the spectrum Sportsnet post show ) on TV she would always root for them to win. ( She also didn’t shy away from the occasional he’s so handsome in regards Jerry, Nomar, Adrian, Orel and John.) She loved going to Dodgers Stadium and getting up close and personal with the players. It was so cute the way she called each one of them, baby and how they each acknowledged her, even getting a ball from Brusdar Graterol ( which she cherished ) who called her Mamacita and protected her during batting practice.
Delia was also an avid cooker ( who showed her love through cooking. No one ever left her home with an empty stomach.)
After an illness, Delia passed away August 21, 2025 in Cerritos, California surrounded by family and loved ones. Delia was preceded in death by her husband Eduardo Benito Gomez in 2021 she is survived by her 3 children, 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Delia will be greatly missed by all those touched by her tremendous heart. Delia and Eduardo will ALWAYS be with us, as their spirit lives on with those they left behind.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 25, 2025 2pm to 5:30 pm at
Ivy Park Cerritos ( in the Rose Garden ) 11000 New Falcon Way, Cerritos, Ca 90703.
At a later date Delia’s along with her husband Eduardo’s ashes will be scattered at sea, allowing them to spend eternity together among the seas.
