Dear Evelyn, I am lighting this candle with the promises of God, and our promise to one another. I will never forget you, and you will always remain in my heart.

I still miss you, my friend. It is so surreal that you are no longer here with us. I miss our conversations in the evening, reflecting, sharing our hearts, dreams, and goals. I thank God that He allowed me to share a small part of your life, and your gentle sweet spirit. I will carry you in my heart forever. Your last message to me  "love you lady"...right back at cha!

Words can't begin to express how much I miss you. Everyday I expected you to just walk back into the office. My heart is broken to know that will never happen.  What am I to do without you? You were my office sister and I am so glad to have known and work with you. Even more to call you my friend. Thank you for all that you've done and taught me. My deepest condolences goes out to your Family and all that loved you.

Evelyn, please go in peace. this is your uncle Albert. I promised you that we are going to take care of grandma, grandpa, and your mom. We miss you so much. Thank you for being a GOOD daughter to your mom and a GOOD daughter for grandma and grandpa. We are proud of you and your accomplishments in life. I miss you Evelyn, you have no idea how many people here missis you and love you. Thank you for being a good person and helping others. GOD BLESS YOU MY NIECE.

I'd like Evelyn's family to know that in the brief time I had the pleasure of working with her she made a deep and profound impact on the spirit here.  Evelyn's energy was a sincere source of love, care and kindness that flowed naturally from her.  All in her circles, especially the clients, felt this intuitively.  In a politically correct world Evelyn did not hesitate in using terms of endearment.  "God bless you.  Take care sweetheart.  I love you."  This we heard in the halls from Evelyn.  The world today needs souls like Evelyn.  God bless her, the family and all those she touched.  How do we carry on?  We love as she did ... unguarded and freely.  Shine on sweet Evelyn.

To my special friend who I will certainly miss. Thank you for allowing me to enter into your personal space, and for trusting me with your heart. I will miss your encouraging words, and our talks. You left me with more than you know, and for that I say "I love you friend." You are my angel, and I will never forget you. Rest in peace sweet friend.

My prayers are with Evelyn's family and friends.  As Evelyn's colleague, I witnessed first hand her gentle spirit and her love for the women she served.  She always treated her clients with respect and compassion.  She was an AWESOME woman who never judged but accepted people for who they were.  Evelyn was truly an angel on earth and she touched every life that she encountered in a positive way.  She will truly be missed and remembered for the legacy that she left behind at A New Way of Life...

I'm not sure I've ever met anyone who had as much kindness and patience as Evelyn. She was and is a role model for me in how she treated everyone with kindness, dignity and respect.

In Loving Memory of Evelyn Ayala-From A New Way of Life Re-Entry Project 

It is with great sorrow that we share the news of the passing of our dear friend and colleague Evelyn Ayala.

Evelyn join A New Way of Life as a social work intern in 2009. Upon earning her Bachelor Degree from California State University, she was asked to join the staff of A New Way of Life.

Evelyn wasn't really a loud person, but her voice carried. “It's OK Sweetie.  I know.  It's all right. I love you.”  Her social work office was in the back of the building and she took client confidences seriously.  However, we could all hear her when her door opened.  That was the public Evelyn.  She wasn't trying to impress, her voice just carried. 
 
Less known is what she did quietly.  If unorthodox assistance was called for to expedite access to ANYTHING, Evelyn would deliver.  She was committed to meeting people's needs; not only from her vast knowledge of resources, but at times, from her own pocket. 
 
She never gave up on anyone.  If darker paths were chosen, she wished all well with warm regard, “It isn't your time.”  However, she was hopeful.  Evelyn believed in never-ending chances and the power of human potential.
 
It's mostly after people die that we gather and hold on to the best of the good in them we remember.   With Evelyn, her charity, kindness, selflessness and pure sweetness was known and acknowledged consistently by her family, clients, friends and co-workers well before she moved on from us.  Because of what we knew her to be, the pain of her loss has pierced our hearts with a wound that will never fully repair.  Perhaps the best we can do to honor her is to commit to be a little more like her. 

On behalf of A New Way of Life Re-entry Project; our women, our board and our allies --- we send blessings of grace and peace to Evelyn and her family. May they find that inner reservoir of strength needed to carry them through this time of pain and mourning.

Evelyn Ayala's legacy is truly that of a wise woman who always led with love.

We are sooo sorry and sad.  She was loved!!!!

I cry at every thought of how much I greatly appreciated and now miss Evelyn, she gave Me so much assistance whenever I called in question of a situation, she always said let me think, and tadow she came up with the perfect solution, or contact for me to carry out my mission, I Love You Evelyn, may you rest with Angels, You are one.

My prayers and condolences go out to Evelyn's family and to her team at ANWOL.  She was a great student in our BASW program and a great Field Instructor to many students as well.
