Miguel Villalobos Garcia

In loving memory, we announce the passing of Miguel García Villalobos on August 30, 2021. Miguel was born on October 6, 1942 in “El Rancho Carretas” in Zacatecas, Mexico. He was the fifth of six children to Lucas Plácido García and Hilaria Villalobos.

Miguel was raised in “El Tunal” in Zacatecas, where his family worked the fields planting corn, chili, pumpkins, etc. His family would buy and sell sugar cane and piloncillo (hardened sugar cones). They dried Palm branches to make capotes (long coat with a hood) and palapas. They also raised cattle.

He married María del Rosario Sánchez on February 27, 1965. They lived in La Estancia, Zacatecas in the early years of their marriage. He worked in the United States off and on and eventually moved to Los Angeles with his wife and four children in 1974. His main profession was wood cutting and carpentry. Miguel is regarded as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was hardworking, good at fixing things around the house, was quite the joker (loved to make people laugh), loved gardening and cooking his famous “chicharrones” and carnitas. Together with his wife, he lived a strong Catholic faith. In his later years, one of his joys was making rosaries and giving them away. Though he raised his family in the US, his love for México remained strong and planned at least two trips to La Estancia (in August) and Nochistlán de Mejía (in February) every year. He loved his family, his homeland, the fields, horses, people, food and culture.

Miguel was preceded in death by his parents, Lucas and Hilaria, daughters María and Galilea García, daughter in law, Erica García, granddaughter Sophia Celeste García, and his two brothers, Pablo and Pedro García. He is survived in death by stepmother Mercedes Delgadillo, siblings Adolfo García, Antonia González, María “Quica” García, Rosalba García, Gladys González and his nine children, Hilaria Sánchez (Carlos), José Luis García (Dolores), Estela García–López (Rodolfo), Adan García (Carmen), Amelia Sánchez (José Luis), Miguel García Jr., Henoc García (Angelica), Griselda Tan (James), and Miriam de Jesús Rosas (Gerardo); his 28 grandchildren, and one great grandson.

Miguel will be greatly missed and remembered lovingly by his family and friends. Eternal rest, grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May the angels lead you into paradise; may the martyrs come to welcome you and take you to the holy city; the new and eternal Jerusalem.

Miguel García Villalobos (1942 – 2021)

En memoria amorosa, anunciamos el fallecimiento de Miguel García el 30 de Agosto de 2021. Miguel García nació el 6 de Octubre de 1942 en el Rancho Carretas, Zacatecas, México. Fue el quinto de seis hijos de Lucas Plácido García y Hilaria Villalobos.

Miguel creció en El Tunal en Zacatecas, donde su familia trabajaba la tierra y vivía de la cosecha de elote, chile, calabazas, y más. Su familia también distribuía caña y piloncillo, y secaban hojas de palmas para hacer capotes y palapas. También criaban ganado.

Miguel se casó con María del Rosario Sánchez el 27 de febrero de 1965. Vivieron en La Estancia, Zacatecas en los primeros años de su matrimonio. Trabajaba en los Estados Unidos por temporadas hasta mudarse a Los Ángeles con su esposa y cuatro hijos en 1974. Su profesión principal fue carpintería. Miguel es recordado como padre amoroso, esposo, abuelo, hermano, tío y amigo. Era muy trabajador, bueno para arreglar cosas, juguetón (le encantaba hacernos reír), buen jardinero, y le encantaba cocinar sus chicharrones y carnitas. Con su esposa, vivió una vida de fe católica. En sus últimos años, le encantaba hacer rosarios y regalarlos. Aunque crió a su familia en los Estados Unidos, su amor por México permaneció fuerte y planeaba por lo menos dos viajes cada año a la Estancia (en agosto) y a Nochistlán de Mejía (en febrero) cada año. Amaba a su familia, su tierra, los campos, caballos, la gente, comida y cultura.

Miguel fue precedido en muerte por sus padres, Lucas y Hilaria, hijas María y Galilea García, nuera, Erica García, nieta, Sophia Celeste García, y sus dos hermanos, Pablo y Pedro García. Fue sobrevivido en muerte por su madrasta Mercedes Delgadillo, hermanos y hermanas Adolfo García, Antonia González, María “Quica” García, Rosalba García, Gladys González y sus nueve hijos, Hilaria Sánchez (Carlos), José Luis García (Dolores), Estela García–López (Rodolfo), Adán García (Carmen), Amelia Sánchez (José Luis), Miguel García Jr., Henoc García (Angélica), Griselda Tan (James), y Miriam de Jesús Rosas (Gerardo); sus 28 nietos y un bisnieto.

Miguel será extrañado mucho y recordado de manera amorosa por su familia y amigos. Que descanse en paz y luzca para él la luz perpetua. Al paraíso te lleven los ángeles, a tu llegada te reciban los mártires y te introduzcan en la ciudad santa de Jerusalén.
