Ruby, also known as Nani, was born to Eva and Rufino Sanchez in San Antonio, Texas, where she lived until she moved to Los Angeles in 1927 with her parents.
She was the third child born to Eva, the first a son Frank Gomez and the second a daughter Della Raussa. As a bilingual legal secretary she worked in the Federal U.S. Civil Service for 31 years. In 1976 she retired and was a devoted companion to her mother Eva Sanchez. During her retirement she enjoyed learning Italian, dancing, listening to music and always being a help to her family.
As a teenager she learned to play the piano well and knew many of the popular songs. This love of music was passionate throughout her life. Dancing was also a
favorite hobbie, she passed on this legacy by teaching the cha cha to her niece
and nephew.
Ruby was a loving, funny, and passionate person, always remembering birthdays, and praying for us all. She will be missed, especially her quick wit and humor, and she will continue to be an inspiration for us all.
