Alice Riffe Lawley, 97, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at her home in Randolph, Alabama. Alice is survived by her six children, Stanley Lawley (Mary), Judy Robinson Miller, Earl Lawley (Sandy), Richard Lawley (Sandra), all of Randolph, Barbara Carol Barron (Charles), Maplesville; Rita Huff Vanderslice (Jim), Clanton; grandchildren, Mike Lawley (Billie Kaye), Ed Robinson Jr., Jennifer Robinson, Jeff Robinson, Kerri Lawley Brown (Brad), Wes Lawley (Ashley), Kyle Lawley (Brittney), Kelly Lawley Sullivan, Sarah Lawley Sparks (Anthony), Angie McGee (Michael), Anne Barron Taddicken (Alan), Channing Barron (Becky), Chris Barron, and Jeremy Huff (Laura); 26 great grandchildren. Please remember the family now in your prayers as we have never had to live without our beautiful Mom! Alice was preceded in death by husbands, Milford Lawley and Henley Lawley; her parents, Charlie and Mollie Payne Riffe; and eight brothers. She was the youngest. She was asked one time if she was spoiled to which she replied, “No! No one knew what spoiled meant in those days,” but she was, and the family hopes that she would say we all spoiled her! She deserved it. The family wishes to thank the staff of Southern Care/ New Beacon Hospice, Alabaster, particularly Miguel Ferguson, Mom’s nurse whom she dearly loved; Vonda Kaye, Social Worker; and John Mitchell, Chaplain. Visitation will be Tuesday at Randolph Baptist Church, 6-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Randolph Baptist with Rev. John Mitchell, and her Pastor, Bro. Tony Reynolds presiding. Burial will be beside her beloved husband, Milford, at Rehobeth Baptist Church Cemetery following the funeral service. Pallbearers are grandsons, Ed and Jeff Robinson, Wes and Kyle Lawley, Jeremy Huff and Channing Barron. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Mature Ladies Sunday School Class; Bill Hamm, ”adopted” son; and those who were there for us all during Mom’s last days, Tracy Keeling, special caretaker granddaughter; Mickey Craney and Sandra Lawley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Randolph Baptist Church , P.O. Box 275, Randolph, AL 36792 or Rehobeth Baptist Cemetery Fund, 3068 Highway 36, Randolph, AL 36792.
