Autrey Lee "Brick" Mason

Autrey Lee (Brick) Mason of Atmore, Alabama passed away on January 15, 2018 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his son, Richard (Sharon) Mason, daughters, Amanda Mason Tibbs and Diane Kerr, daughter in law, Tena Moore; grandchildren Adam Mason, Erica Tucker, Elizabeth Baxter, Andrew Tibbs, Brandy Castleberry and Christopher Moore; great grandchildren Addison Tucker, Michael White, Mavinee White, Jack Tibbs and Bella Moore. Mr. Mason is also survived by his sister, Ercell Womack, and his brother Bill (Beverly) Mason along with many nieces, nephews and cousins

After retiring from R. D. Burnett (Birmingham), Mr. Mason went to work for R. J. Reynolds. After retiring for a second time, he and his wife, Maxine, returned to Atmore to the family farm. Mr. Mason always referred to himself as a Gentleman Farmer. Mr. Mason entered the military after graduating from McCullough High School (Atmore) and served in the Army in the 52nd Airborne. After being honorably discharged, he received his business degree from Birmingham Business College.

Mr. Mason is preceded in death by his father, Rue Albert Mason and his mother, Clarence Ramsey Mason, his wife, Maxine Peeples Mason, his brother, Aubrey Mason, his sister, Hazel Mason Griffith, his sons Russell Lee Mason and Ronald Eugene Moore, his grandchildren, Adam Tibbs and Patrick Kerr.

Mr. Mason’s service will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Rockco’s Funeral Home in Montevallo, Alabama. Visitation with the family begins at 11:00 AM, with the service at 12:00 PM. A graveside service will follow.
