Blake Trevor "BJ" Berry, Jr., age 32, of Indian Springs, Alabama, passed away tragically on February 7, 2021. He was a graduate of Oak Mountain High School, Class of 2007. He worked as an independent contractor in residential remodeling, with dreams of one day starting Berry Good Construction. He enjoyed hunting, working on his truck, getting fit and listening to country music. He had a heart-warming smile and the most stunning blue eyes. He never met a stranger and would give you the shirt off his back. Above all else, he loved his daughter and his family with all of his heart. Left to treasure his memory is his daughter, Dalila Hope Berry; his true love and mother of his child, Amber Cobb; his parents, Blake Berry and April Scurlock Berry; siblings, Maranda Berry Buttrey (Jack), Riley Berry, Dana Berry and Delana Berry; grandparents, Lee and Jackie Berry, and Lyndell Scurlock; numerous extended family; his beloved dogs, Nova and Ryder; and stupid hamster, Luvs. The family will receive friends at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo) on Friday, February 12, 2021 from 4:00 until 6:00 PM, with social distancing and masks required. As he would want, please dress casually or in your camo. Because of limited seating, a private Celebration of Life will follow at 7:00 PM by invitation only. Guests may watch remotely at www.facebook.com/rockcofuneralhome or via livestream at the link below. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Special Equestrians Birmingham at www.specialequest.org or to Indian Springs School at www. indianspringsschool.org.

I don't even know where to begin as there are no words for the loss of this precious guy. BJ meant so much to so many but I know that he knew how much HE WAS LOVED! BJ made a definite impression wherever and whomever he came in contact with because he was undeniably UNFORGETTABLE. I know personally that there will be a big hole in our lives and he will be sorely missed. He had an infectious smile that made everyone around him want to smile. I will miss you my sweet Nephew.
Love,
Aunt Kelly

Blake, April, Lyndell and family. Please accept our deepest condolences. Your loss resonates with us even after many years apart. We have fond memories of Blake (and his dog Molly) playing near the stable and always being cheerful, polite and genuinely interested in how our day was going. He had clearly become a strong adult and loving dad. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

I always had a lot of fun with BJ when he would come to our house to spend the night with Matt. One time in particular was when I took them on a trail through the woods at night. On the way back l would run ahead of them and hide beside the trail to see if they could find me. I think that they found me every time. BJ always seemed so happy and was always very respectful.
