Bobbie Braddock Pitts, age 80, of West Blocton and Calera, Alabama, passed away on October 6, 2026. Born October 7, 1945, Bobbie lived a life marked by steady strength, plainspoken honesty, and a spirited warmth that never asked for attention, yet was always felt.
Bobbie retired from Shelby Baptist Hospital in Alabaster, Alabama after 17 years of hard work and faithful service. Through the years, she met life with resilience and determination, carrying herself with the kind of quiet resolve that others could lean on, and with a free-spirited sense of adventure that kept her heart open to joy.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her son, Keith “Buddy” Pitts. She is survived by her daughter, Tracy (Brian) Foster; son, Floyd (Lisa) Pitts; grandson, Jesse (Natasha) Deerman and Stephen Pitts; granddaughter, Sarah Pitts; and three great-granddaughters, Kourtney, Makenlee, and Maddie.
Those who knew Bobbie will remember the way her humor could brighten an ordinary moment and how her straightforward nature made her a person of deep trust. She found simple happiness in watching Alabama Crimson Tide football, in the freedom of a good time—pop a top and shake a leg—and in the companionship of her Shitzhu, “Bojangles.” In all things, Bobbie carried herself with a hardworking steadiness and a courageous, adventurous spirit that will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be held at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo), 3715 Highway 25, Montevallo, Alabama 35115, on October 9, 2026, at 1:00pm followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00pm. Bobbie will be laid to rest at Macedonia Cemetery in Pea Ridge.
