Charles Edgar Bearden

Bearden, Charles Edgar, age 86, of Brierfield, Alabama went home to our Lord & Savior on August 1, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Opal Evans Bearden; daughter, Rita Miskelly of Brierfield, AL; sons, Ronnie Bearden (Peggy) of Pinson, AL, and Lynn Bearden (Stacy) of Montevallo, AL; grandchildren, Keith Bearden (Jennifer), Robert Brand, Kevin Brand, Shane Miskelly (Christy), Michelle Riedel (Kenny), Crystal Wilson (Toby), Daniel Bearden, Haley Gray (Eric), Nathan Bearden, Amanda Leonard (Josh) and Maggie Lawley; 23 great-grandchildren; and 1 great great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his son, James “Jimmy” Bearden; his grandchildren, Pam Walker and Angie Merrill; and brother, Calvin Bearden (Lorene).

Charles retired as self-employed contractor and was a member of Dogwood Grove Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Dogwood Grove Baptist Church. His funeral service will be on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the church, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Brother Todd Burr will officiate his services, and burial will follow at Salem Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama.
