Charles Edward Daviston (“Pop”), age 83, of Brierfield passed away at his home the morning of November 8, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife of more than 50 years, Shirlee Faye Daviston and his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Ed Daviston. He is survived by his brother, Terry (Martha Ann) Daviston of Newnan, Georgia; his son Byron Keith (Delilah) Daviston; two grandsons Byron Keith, Jr. (Angela) Daviston and Michael Ethan Daviston. He is also survived by two great grandchildren, Andrew and Emalynn Daviston along with several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Charlie was a lifelong resident of the Montevallo area and was retired from the Air Force after twenty one years. He was also retired from Liberty National Life Insurance Company and had his own used car dealership for a number of years. There will be a visitation for Charlie at Rockco Funeral Home in Montevallo on Monday, November 12 from 6 – 8 pm. His funeral service will also be at Rockco Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 13, at 11 am. Burial will follow at Alabama National Cemetery at 12:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please make contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project, or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
