He was born October 27, 1946 with a twin brother, David A. Lawrence. They grew up in Homewood, Alabama and attended Shades Valley High School.
Charles graduated from Jacksonville State University in 1972 and married Rebecca "Becky" Nelson in 1974.
Following in his dad's footsteps, he owned the Hickory House Restaurant in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida for over 12 years. The rest of his career was spent with the National Federation of Independent Business - NFIB.
He loved fishing and family events, but more than these, he loved telling everyone about his Jesus!
Charles is preceded in death by his grandparents, Clemont Carlyle & Edna Thomas Lawrence and Dewey Cletis & Hilda Holloway Amberson; his parents, Charles Clemont Lawrence & Mattilene Amberson Lawrence; sister-in-law, Caroline Nelson Keever; and brother-in-law, Frank Phillip Nelson. Charles is survived by his wife, Rebecca N. Lawrence; his children, Paul Monroe Lawrence (Kristal), Charles Phillip Lawrence (Michelle) and Sarah Lawrence Aldridge (Mark); his beloved grandchildren, Peyton, Landen, Jesslyn, Mitchell, Skylar, Ann Louise, Amelia Rose, Dean, Adrey and Sadie; his brothers, David Amberson Lawrence (Babs) and James Michael Lawrence; brothers-in-law, William Henry Nelson (Sandy) and Tom Keever; sister-in-law, Patricia Nelson Hewlett (Bud) and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Charles will be held Monday, October 17, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, Alabama 35124, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. Pastor Paul Lawrence will officiate.
Charles will be laid to rest in Southern Heritage Cemetery.
