

David Clelland Butsch Age 86, of Birmingham, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 5, 2017. Preceded in death by daughter, Shelby Key and siblings, Leonard Milton, Elizabeth, Johnny, Molly, Warren, Robert, and Lester. Survived by wife, Waltraud Christa (Neuber); son, David Clelland (Cheryl) Butsch, Jr.; daughters, Heidi J. (Arthur) Quintero and April Butsch; grandchildren, David Clelland Butsch III, Jordan D., Andrew J., Benjamin P., David H. (Wendy) Key, Tyler S. Key, J. P. Morrison, Julia A. (Justin) Trejo, Joshua T. Henley, and Ciera N. Henley; great-grandchildren, Victoria A. Trejo, Sofia A. Trejo, and Erin Kate; step-great-grandchildren, Rylan and Emry; and other loving family and friends. David Clelland Butsch was born to Leonard Milton Butsch and Elizabeth Hurter in Alabama on October 14, 1931. He served his country in the United States Air Force as a fighter pilot in Korea, South East Asia, Europe and US. Of all his accolades & skills in airmanship, the thing people point to the most was his character. He had a nice smile, spoke encouragingly to people, was genuinely kind, compassionate and helped everybody. He loved his family and spent time with them boating, hiking, hunting, playing racket ball, flying and just doing stuff. He loved telling fun stories about flying and cutting up. He loved telling jokes and riddles with his grand kids. He loved Jesus Christ and shared his faith with his family and friends. He is missed here but is having a great time in heaven. We will see him again. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM with funeral service at 12:30 PM on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo), 3715 Highway 25, Montevallo, AL 35115.
