David Bob “Pops” Takacs, age 72, of Maylene, Alabama, passed away June 29, 2016. He served in the US Army and spent his career at a Freight Operator for CSX. He loved the outdoors: fishing, hunting and rebuilding boat motors. Pops enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking and dining out. He was loved by all, and he will be sorely missed. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Takacs. He is survived by his son, Wesley Takacs of Maylene. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 1:30-2:30PM at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo). His committal service will follow at 2:45PM at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo. In lieu of flowers, please bring Canadian Whiskey in memory of Pops.
