Dennis was born on March 7, 1947, in Birmingham, AL to Paul and Jewel Bennett. From an early age, he placed his faith in Jesus Christ and lived a life marked by love, service, and devotion to the Lord, his family, and country.
Dennis served as a Sargent in the 25th Infantry of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His service time was from 1967-1969. He worked at Masonry Arts Incorporated where he was the supervisor on various projects around the country. He retired from Masonry Arts Inc in 2013 to his lake home on Lay Lake in Clanton, Alabama where he enjoyed fishing and spending time with family. He was also a faithful member of Christ Church Birmingham, where he found joy in attending Sunday School with his wife and church community.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Jewel Bennett, and his brothers, Russell Bennett, Rex Bennett, and Terry Bennett. He is survived by his wife, Treasia Bennett, his children, Tracey Bennett Vickers (son-in-law, Keron Vickers) and Rodney Bennett (daughter-in-law, Michelle Bennett), and his grandchildren, Audrey Vickers, Alan Vickers, Charlee Bennett, and Hollis Bennett who rejoice in the promise of eternal life through Christ, even as they grieve this earthly separation.
While we mourn, we do not grieve without hope, for Dennis now rests in the arms of the Savior, hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” He is rejoicing in Heaven, made whole and new in the presence of the Lord.
A celebration of Dennis’s life will be held on March 6, 2026 at 12:30 pm at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Al. with Bro. Owen Strickland officiating. Procession will begin at 12:15 pm.
