Donald R. Lucas, age 88, passed away on December 21, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Clay Lucas and Frankie Victoria Northcutt Lucas, his wife, Dorothy Omega Pamplin Lucas, his brothers Henry, George, and, Fred Lucas and his sisters Erva Killingsworth, Esther Blankenship, and, Peggy Smith. He is survived by his daughters, Debra Lucas and Sharon Minnick (Gary) and son, Donnie Lucas (Lore), his granddaughters Kira Thomas (Noah) and Angela Lee (Larry) and grandson Timothy Lucas (Brittany), and great granddaughter, Hadley Thomas and great grandsons, James Lee and Daniel Lucas. Visitation and funeral service will be on Saturday, December 23, 2017. Visitation for family will be from 12:30 -1:00. Visitation for friends will be from 1:00-2:00, with funeral service following at 2:00, followed by burial in Montevallo Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Gideon's to purchase Bibles.
