Earlene Cole Mitchell, 87, of Calera, Alabama, passed peacefully on Saturday, August 1, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Earlene was born on January 28,1939 to Earl and Evelyn Cole and had a loving stepmother, Estelle Cole. Earlene married Billy E. Mitchell, Sr. on August 27, 1960, and the two were married for 45 Years.
Earlene was an employee and member of the First Baptist Church in Alabaster, Alabama where she served as the Pastor’s secretary. In her spare time, she loved reading, crossword puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Earlene is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Evelyn Cole and her stepmother, Estelle Cole. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Billy E. Mitchell, Sr. Earlene is survived by her daughter, Suzi Mitchell; two sons, Billy Mitchell Jr. (Kelly) and Michael Mitchell (Tracey); sister, Margaret Cole; grandchildren, Isabella Mitchell, Cross Mitchell, Magdalena Mitchell, Haley Gonzalez (Jesse), Mazlo Mitchell, Kayla Mitchell (Jordan), and Bella Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Hudson Gonzalez, Grayson Gonzalez, Jackson Gonzalez, Emmerson Gonzalez, and Margo Mitchell.
Pallbearers are special people to Earlene, and they are Jordan Bays, Jesse Gonzalez, Darryl "T-Bone" Enfinger, Austin Jones, Jon Sparks, and Kurt Jones.
