Elva Lou Woods Lucas, age 82, of Jemison, Alabama passed away November 1, 2017. Elva always spoke her mind, and love to fish, play slots, chew tobacco and dance to country music. She adored her children, but everybody knew Tonya was her favorite.
She was preceded in death by her children, Alvin Smith, Ann Emfinger, and Darlene Whatley; grandson, Bobby Shore; five brothers; and three sisters. She is survived by her children, C. L. Smith (Donna), Eddie Dean Smith (Wanda), Ralph Lucas (Myra), and Angie Glass (Jim); grandchildren she raised, Tonya Mizzell (David) and Tony Payton (Denise); countless grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Roy Woods (Dyrle); sisters, Shirley Thomas (Jessie), Barbara Sue Dawson (L. C.), and Ava Lee Childers (Cliff); and countless nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo) at 1:00 PM, with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM. Bishop Gary Beane will officiate. Burial will follow at Midway Cemetery in Jemison.
