Eugene “Gene” Mitchell, age 94, of Saginaw, went to be with the Lord on August 2, 2015. Eugene was a WWII veteran of the 82nd Airborne Division. He started Mitchell Concrete Pipe in 1956, which he passed on to his son in 1980. He was a member of Covenant Life Church in Pelham. Eugene was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Nix Mitchell. He is survived by his daughter, Sandra M. Draper; son, Larry Mitchell (Sherry); grandchildren, Rachael Crutchfield (Tim), Justin Draper (Paige), Chel Mitchell (Susan) and Candacey Brown (Mark); 9 great-grandchildren, ages 5-17; brother, Howard K. Mitchell; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 10:00AM at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo). His Funeral Service will commence at 11:00AM, followed by burial at Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera.
