Hensley, Gary Kent, age 78, of Birmingham, passed away May 6, 2016. He served in the US Navy and raised his family in Alexander City, AL. He spent his career traveling as a furniture manufacturer’s representative. He attended Double Oak Community Church in Mt. Laurel. Gary was a huge Alabama football fan and a faithful Republican.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J. Clark Hensley and Lucille Fisk. He is survived by his daughter, Kelly Watkins Vernon (Art) of Greystone Farms; granddaughter, Shelby Lynn Watkins; step-mother, Margaret Hensley; step-brothers, Clark Hensley, Jr. of Clinton, MS and Dana Hensley of Franklin, TN; and his best friend, Bob Hall.
A Celebration of Gary’s Life will be held on Monday, May 16, 2016 at 12:00PM at Double Oak Community Church in Mt. Laurel, followed by a committal service at 2:00PM at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL.
