George Frederick Anderson went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 6, 2017. He was a long time resident of Helena and was a member of Helena Baptist Church. He was a decorated WWII Army veteran, and a Freemason. He is preceded in death by his parents, Porter and Annie Anderson; brother, Joe Thomas Anderson and wife of 69 years, Latrelle Hand Anderson.
He is survived by his children, Sheryll Hill, Fred Anderson, Steve Anderson and Debbie Scott; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The visitation and funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Helena. The visitation will begin at 1pm and the funeral service will begin at 2pm. Burial will be at Helena City Cemetery, Lakeside. Services will be handled by Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo).
