Gertrude Rasco Johnson, age 93, of Maylene, Alabama, passed away July 14, 2017. She was the last surviving charter member of New Hope Church of God. She retired from Briarcliff Nursing Home in Alabaster at age 74. She loved to crochet. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Johnson; sons, Kenneth White and Clifton Todd Johnson; grandchildren, Tiffany and Tonya Johnson; parents, Tivis and Mary Rasco; and 7 siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Vivian Layton; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 19 great great-grandchildren; sister, Faye Edwards; and numerous nieces and nephews. He funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 2:00 PM at New Hope Church of God in Maylene. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Ryan Cemetery in Montevallo. Bro. David Vinson and Bro. Jeff Holsomback will officiate.
