

James Robert "Bobby" Garrett, age 87, of Alabaster, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. Bobby was born July 24, 1934 to Lester and Louise Reeps Garrett of Russellville, Alabama. He was a veteran of the US Navy and served in the Korean War. He retired from CSX Railroad after 37 years of service. He was an avid Alabama fan and member of Tide Pride. He enjoyed traveling with his wife in their RV to many Alabama sporting events.
His family is comforted with the knowledge that he dedicated himself to Jesus Christ. He will be terribly missed and always in our hearts.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mildred Louise Garrett Pass; and brother-in-law, Boyd Pass. He is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Bobbie Hollis Garrett; daughters, Rebecca Davis and Pamela Grissom; son, James Gregory Garrett; grandchildren, Jamie Lee Garrett, Elizabeth Davis, James Dustin Garrett, Aaron Davis, Emily Garrett Walley (Kyle), and Caroline Garrett Grissom; great-grandchildren, Gunner Garrett, Maddox Garrett, Matthew Gaither, Peyton Walley, Lila Garrett and Hunter Walley; niece, Shannon Pass Brown (David); nephew, Garrett Pass (Laura); great-niece, Kate Pass; great-nephew, Webb Pass; and beloved dog, Bama.
A graveside service for James will be held Friday, January 7, 2022 at 11:45 AM at Alabama National Cemetery, 3133 Highway 119, Montevallo, Alabama 35115. Bro. David Brown will officiate.
