James "Jim" Hereford Marston Jr., age 79, of Birmingham, Alabama passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025. Jim was born in Mobile, Alabama and served in the US Navy from 1964 until 1967. He was known as the Spa Doctor and repaired spas and hot tubs after spending several years in the pool industry. He was proud of his service as a volunteer firefighter in Silver Hill, Alabama in his earlier years. His best days were spent at the beach or in the mountains with his son, daughter-in-law, and his on-again-off-again wife, Sherry.
He is survived by his twice wife, Sherry Marston; son, Mike Marston and his wife Cara; brothers, Kevin Marston and Peter Marston; sister, Paige Pose; brothers-in-law, Lee Steele and Edgar Rice (Toni); sisters-in-law, Randee Kilgore and Beverly Carter (Peter); numerous nieces and nephews; and his feline companion, Boomer.
A committal service will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Alabama National Cemetery, 3133 Hwy 119, Montevallo, AL 35115.
