Janice Marie Cobb Stone of Calera, Alabama died Monday, October 28, 2019 at home. She was 75. Born November 1, 1943 to Warren Rascoe Cobb and Mary West Cobb, she was a long-time resident of Calera in Shelby County.

Janice enjoyed her many travels, including her favorite trip to Alaska. She served her beloved Calera Baptist Church family during her lifelong membership in a number of ways, including teaching Sunday School and serving as church clerk. Always the consummate hosts, she and Bob were constantly opening their home and their hearts to those who needed a place to stay for the night, the month, or even longer. Janice was loved by many in her community and will be greatly missed.

Janice is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bob, her son David (Krista), and daughter Amy (Michael) Atchison; her grandchildren, Nicholas Stone, Rebekah Stone, Mary Evelyn Stone, Zach Atchison, and Elizabeth Atchison; six nieces and nephews; a host of cousins; and dear friends too numerous to mention by name.
