Jerry Pennington, age 61, of Maylene, Alabama, passed away at home on January 25, 2021. He grew up in Helena and attended Pelham High School. Jerry was a hard-working man and jack of all trades. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, listening to classic country and oldies, arm wrestling, playing pool, mud riding, camping and watching Auburn football. Most of all, he loved grilling with friends and family, and being "PawPaw" to his grandchildren. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Howell Pennington; parents, Aubia Pennington and Nellie Simmons Pennington; and twin brother, Terry Pennington. He is survived by his son, Jerry R. Pennington; daughter, Jessica Pennington (Arturo); grandchildren, Cody Pennington and Gaby Pennington; brothers, Ricky Pennington (Connie) and Ronnie Pennington (Patty); sister-in-law, Teresa Pennington; aunt, Gracie Hamrick (Buddy); mother-in-law, Linda Howell; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo). Due to social distancing, in-person attendance for his funeral service will be limited to family. Friends and those exposed to COVID-19 wishing to participate may view the funeral service remotely on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 1:00 PM at www.facebook.com/rockcofuneralhome. He will be buried beside his wife at Helena City Cemetery.
