ADD A MEMORY
Phillip Davis

Daddy,

You fought a good fight
And ran a good race
Thanks to His Amazing Grace
You knew your fate, no fear of death
When you would draw your final breath
For you would pass to Heaven's shore
To be with loved ones gone on before
Our earthly loss, but Heaven's gain
Where there is no sorrow,
Sickness or pain
Where death is defeated
And sin is no more
To reign with Him forevermore
I'll see you again when I've run my race
Thanks to His Amazing Grace

I love you Daddy!

J. D. was my inspiration when I was a boy, living next door to him in Shelby, always there when I needed help. When I broke one of Grandmother's petunia plants when I was about three years old, and she chided me, J. D. told me to say, "I couldn't help it." I had no idea what it meant, but said what J. D. told me. He was the youngest of Mama's siblings, and the last of the nine children to die. We shared thousands of cherished memories, whether going bird hunting or swimming at Dog Town. We also shared our first name. He was named after his father, Jesse Davis (1888-1964), and I was also named after him, my maternal grandfather. J. D. will be missed., and I send my deepest condolences to his children and grandchildren. Remember this: Memory is a gift that not even death can destroy. "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning." Psalm 30:6
