Jimmy Don Harris passed away peacefully in Alabaster, Alabama on the 14th of April 2016, at the age of 72. Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Betty Harris; and his parents, James and “Pete” Harris. He is survived by 5 children, Scott Burrough of St. Louis, Mo., Patty (James) Midgette of Pelham, Al., Kit (Leslie) Bozeman of Alabaster, Al., Becky (Robbie) Elmore of Maylene, Al., and Kim (Dale) Payne of Maylene, Al. Jimmy was blessed with 16 grandchildren, and 13 great- grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 16th from 6-8 pm at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo). His funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 17th at 2:00 pm. The graveside service will follow at Macedonia Cemetery in Montevallo. Officiating his service will be Reverend Ricky Smith.
Jimmy was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. After grieving for his wife over the past year, he finally is at peace and has her back in his arms again, for which his family is grateful.
