Jimmy Don Russell Jr. lovingly known as “Hogg”, passed away suddenly on September 21, 2019. Hogg was born December 27, 1973, and raised in Montevallo, Alabama where he made many friends along the way. A true country boy at heart, Hogg was an avid deer hunter, he also enjoyed riding the backroads, and spending time with friends and family. He graduated from Montevallo High School, and most recently went to work for Franklin Enterprises where he was a very dedicated employee. Hogg loved his Harley, he loved to ride, and the brotherhood he shared with the men he road with was irreplaceable. He was an Iron Coffin Regional Enforcer for the Southern Region and ex-president of the Central Alabama Chapter of the Iron Coffin MC. His loyalty to his club, his brothers, and his family had no limits. When Hogg was not with the club, he could be found at The Tavern, always in his corner, with a Busch Light or a sweet tea, and his loving wife by his side. To a stranger, Hogg’s size and demeanor might have been intimidating but those who knew him knew that Hogg was a gentle giant, with the best bear hugs and the funniest stories. He was a good man who would give you the shirt off his back, a loving husband, son, brother, father, and the best Pop any kid could ask for. He had a personal relationship with God, and knew where he stood with the Lord. Today Hogg is looking down on us from Heaven and smiling. He is preceded in death by his mother, Rita Cook Russell; and grandmother, Doris Heron Left behind to cherish his memory is his soulmate and wife of 15 years, Tansy Russell; daughter, Amber Guiditta (Nick); son, Jacob Lawley; grandchildren, Madelyn, Malakhi, and Aiyana; father, Jimmy Don Russell Sr. (Jane); sister, Lynn Smith (Eric); as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a town full of friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 27, 2019 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo). My prayers go out to you, Tansy and all of your family. While we have only known you guys for a couple of years, we have always loved you all. I know that mere words can't help, so I will offer up my prayers both for you and the family, and for my friend, Hogg. He was one of the first ones to welcome me into the group at the tavern, and his smile and laugh will always be remembered.

From high school, to the dirt roads and mud holes and then to Dega. You were always the life of the party with your out going personality, generous heart and loyal friendship. You will be greatly missed, we may not have spoke very often but when we did we picked up right where we left off. Rest Easy old friend!

We so enjoyed listening to your stories at the Tavern and the support you gave me after my surgery. Mike and I would leave still laughing at your tales. You will be missed.
