Joe F. Meyer

Joe F. Meyer, age 86, originally of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023. An intelligent and skilled man, Joe had multiple Master's degrees, designed tools and retired as a shop teacher. He was honored to travel to Holland for OPW, a division of Dover Corporation, to train employees to manufacture his design of gasoline nozzle. After marrying Beverly, Joe designed and built their home with his own skill and the help of family and friends. After his final retirement, they moved to Alabama. Joe was an active member of Fairfield Gun Club and Ducks Unlimited. He enjoyed playing cards, watching birds, fishing and studying history.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Helen Michael Meyer and Lester Meyer; sister, Mary Bruning; and son-in-law, James Krouse. He is survived by his wife of over 30 years, Beverly Meyer; children, Ann Grote (Robert), Chris Meyer (Joan), Patti Rencher, Angela Smith, Will Meyer (Chandra), Susan McIntire (Mac), Pamela Seimers and Denise Adams; grandchildren, Alex Gubser (Julie), Thomas Rencher, Virginia Randall (Benjamin), Josh Meyer (Jayne), Brittany Chester (Lucas), Mackenzie Smith, Asia Orangio (Zac), Malcolm Meyer, Stephanie Gubser (Mark), L. J. Howard (Mark), Julia, and Edward Howard; great-grandchildren, Orrin, Kailyn, Korbin, Graceland, Olivia, Leo, Aiden, Noah, Ashton, Haley, Melody, Sophie, Reggie, Aiden, Lucius, Reannan, and Kyler; special cousin, Jim Vogele (Sandy); and numerous extended family members.

A memorial service for Joe will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home, 3715 Highway 25, Montevallo, Alabama 35115, with a luncheon to follow.
