Johnathan Paul Boyd, 40, of Montevallo, Alabama passed away on January 16, 2017. Paul was born and raised in the town of Montevallo, Alabama where he was a staple in the community. Paul received his bachelors and masters degrees from the University of Montevallo and planned to enter into the counseling field. Paul became a quadriplegic at the age of 19 and used his disability to encourage others. He was an advocate for those with disabilities and worked relentlessly to ensure equal rights for all people. He was an encourager, an educator, a charmer, a comedian, and a friend with the utmost loyalty. Paul is survived by his mother and step-father Susan and Greg Winslett; his brother Jason Boyd and wife Cindy; his sister Amy Griffin and husband Jamie; one nephew Guy Boyd and three nieces, Chloe Boyd, Sawyer and Cricket Griffin; and countless friends and colleagues. A memorial service is to be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 18th at University Baptist Church in Montevallo.
