Kathy Carter Mathis, 61, of Montevallo died Tuesday, June 12, 2018. She was born March 19, 1957, in Atlanta and later moved with her family to their original home of Clay County, Alabama, and she lived the remainder of her life in the state.
As her family and friends know, she was quick to bring a smile and offered rich company and conversation, and had a strong faith in Jesus.
She is preceded in death by her mother Colleen Fetner, and two brothers, Randy and Ryan.
She is survived by her father and step-mother, Jack and Martha Carter, her husband, Mike Mathis, her children, Adam Bremer-McCollum of Boston and Miranda Riley of Hoover, and stepchildren, Eric Lovelady, Mike Mathis, Jr., and Amy Grater. She had eleven grandchildren: Isaac, Stephen, Jack, Sam, Gabriel, Erin, Sebastian, Sharon, Tyler, Riayn, and Grayson. She was previously married to Ron McCollum.
Her family and friends will dearly miss her, but she has left them all with scores of delightful memories.
