A Life Well Lived.

Kenneth's most valuable source of pride was his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Stephanie Jill Cohron (1971-2016); his parents, Johnny Cohron and Geraldine McKuhen Cohron; son-in-law, Willard Hamrick; and brother, Jack Cohron. He is survived by his love, Loretta Cohron; daughter, Jennifer Cohron (Mike Kiracofe), Rebecca Belle Cohron Hamrick; son, Joseph Dustin Cohron; grandchildren, Cody, Brett, Kaitlyn, Dalton, Marissa, Lucas, Abby, Kaleb, Trent, Logan, Dakota, Claudia, and River; great-grandchildren, McKenlee and Weston; stepdaughters, Tiffany, Brenda, Jessica (Brad) and Crystal; siblings, Johnny, Jeannie, Bobby, Chuck, Buddy, Rita, Tammy and Mark; numerous nieces and nephews; and his constant canine companion, Barnie. Kenneth was a hard-working, compassionate man; a loving father, husband and friend. He brought laughter, advice and unique encouragement to all who surrounded him. He shared a story like no other - he lived a vibrant life...full of memories and stories to last for generations. A generous spirit, Kenneth passed on surrounded by his family, with love and comfort. Owner of Ken's Roofing for 56 years, he was well known for the quality and commitment he showed in his work. There was nothing he would not conquer! He always had solid advice for any circumstance, whether you liked it or not! Honest as a child, he would tell you exactly what as moral and sound. He set a great example for his children as far as entrepreneurship, as they are all self-employed, has been a tremendous support and mentor for his grandchildren, and was a dedicated friend to be relied upon. Kenneth's legacy will live on forever...as "Cool Hand Luke", he was a true blessing and inspiration. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2020 from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo). I remember hearing so many stories from Jenni and Brenda before I met Kenny "Cool Hand Luke" about how awesome he was and the cool things he's done in his lifetime. I was excited to meet my future son's Grandpa because of all the stories I had heard. He did not fail to impress me. When I arrived in Birmingham he welcomed me like a son and didn't even know me. We instantly hit it off and he told me about all of his old school drag racing stories in Detroit City, and the cool cars he used to have. We got to talking about fishing, so he taught me how to bass fish in the south and took us out on his boat. Kenny showed me his love for his kids and expressed his love to me for his grandkids. He would literally give anyone of them and even a stranger like me the shirt off his back if he was asked to . He was a very hard working, mellow man that got stuff done for his family, and enjoyed life in front of him as it was, working for himself and not "the man". Kenny was by far the "Coolest" man I've ever met in my life. I'm thankful for God intertwining our paths in life because I've learned so much from him and enjoyed his presence. I know I'll keep telling my son Lucas how awesome his Grandpa really was, and I know his mom will do the same because Kenny meant the world to her. Till we meet again my friend!!

I meant Kenneth through his son Joey in November of 2017. I have only known him at that time for 24 hours when he and Joey said that they were going to build me a deck. They came over the next morning and for two days they built me a deck charged me nothing for it and to this day I still don't know why. All I can say is God sent me an angel to provide a deck I could not afford to at that point in time. I will forever be grateful for that meeting. Kenneth was such a loving individual I wish I would have known him better. Thank you Joey for introducing me to your dad and may he rest in the peace and love of God strong arms.
