Lyda Faye Snell

Faye was born to L. G. Cox and Willie Estella Smith Cox and spent her life in Central Alabama. She married Everett W. Snell at the age of 14, and they spent their lives together raising their family and running Snell Service Station in Alabaster. She attended Montevallo Church of God. She was a loving wife and mother, enjoying supporting her husband and sons in their love of dirt track racing. She will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; daughter, Maryland Denise Snell; brothers, Frank Cox and Loyce Cox; and sister, Elsie Smith. She is survived by her sons, Joe Snell (Robin) and Greg Snell (Aindria); grandchildren, Matthew Snell, Melissa Snell, Chad Snell (Jennifer), and Michael Snell; great-grandchildren, Bryant Snell, Bralynn Tracy, Ian Tracy, Christian Snell, and Elizabeth Snell; brothers, Ernie Cox, Gary Cox and Charles Edward Goggins; sisters, Reba Chandler and Annette Goggins; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo). Her funeral service will be held on Friday, August 28, 2020 at 12:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo). Bro. Jeff Holsomback will officiate. Burial will be at Elliottsville Cemetery in Alabaster. Come as you are.
