Maria Angela Gavidia Ayala, age 87, died on Saturday, February 21, 2015. She was born in Chalatenaugo, El Savador. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Guadalupe Roberto Gavidia; daughters, Gloria Serpas Gavidia (Antonio Serpas) of London, Ontario and Mirian Rosalia Rodriguez Gavidia of Antioch, Tennessee; son, Carlos R. Gavidia (Josaline Estalla Maroquin) of Montevallo, Alabama; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Rosa Isabel Rivas Ayala and Marta Ayala; and brothers, Miguel Anel Ayala, Jose Alfonso Ayala and Huberto Dejesus Ayala. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Maria Antonia Gavidia. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 from 6-9 PM at Rockco Funeral Home Montevallo. The Funeral Mass will be at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Montevallo, Alabama on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 with burial to follow at Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera, Alabama.
