Melissa Ann Shiflett

Melissa grew up in Center Point, Alabama, one of five children of John and Helen Todd. She dedicated her professional life to accounting, working in downtown Birmingham. Her career culminated with her retirement in 2024 from SPM Property Management.

A devoted family woman, Melissa loved spending time with her family, especially during their annual trips to Panama City Beach, Florida each September. She was a loving mother, Nammy, and sister. Her community involvement was marked by her attendance at Collectivus Church in Calera, Alabama.

Melissa's personal joys included reading her bible, sipping a glass of wine, and petting her dog, Hayley. Her legacy of warmth and kindness will be remembered by all who knew her.

Melissa is survived by her daughter, Sandi Meeks (DeWayne); grandchildren, Keaton Meeks and Kristen Meeks (Kenton); sisters, Janet Todd and Hope Todd; several nephews; her dearest friend, Ben Ledbetter; and her beloved pet, Hayley. She was preceded in death by her brother, Timothy Todd, and sister, Dawn Jennings.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Collectivus Church, 8271 US-31, Calera, AL 35040. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local humane society.
