Monica “Dawn” Payne Klein, age 42, from Calera, Alabama passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2016. Dawn is survived by her beloved children, Justin Cupp (Marly Terrell) and Stetson Cupp (Mallory Rollan). She is also survived by her mother, Patsy Lee Payne Loggins; her father, Kenny Lee Payne (Terri); her sisters, Rachel Lyn Payne (Barney), Ashley Lee and Rachel Burrough (Jason); brother, Montana Trace Payne, nieces and nephews, Andrea Payne, Jocelynne George, Amery Payne, Brooklyn Lee, Jacob Larimer, Dakota Payne and Trey Smith, as well as too many treasured aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that became family to mention by name, but you all know who you are. Last, but certainly not least, Dawn is survived by her adored grandpiggy, Stanley. She was preceded in death by her precious grandmothers, Polly Lee and Betty Sue Payne; grandfathers, James Lee and Dit Payne; brother, Kenny Lee Payne II; step-father, Gene Loggins; niece, Kristin Sierra Lee; nephew, Lane; and many other loved ones that were sure to welcome Dawn Home.
Dawn blessed many lives. She was selfless and kind, always willing to lend a helping hand. Family and friends were her love and joy, especially the kids. She is called Aunt Dawn by many with no shared blood, just shared love. Dawn taught us many lessons through her own example: courageous and strong in the face of a storm, and kind in the face of need. Dawn would help you out or help you fight. She was a loving, kind, giving, no-nonsense, beautiful being that was always there. Dawn will be missed. Dawn conveyed many wishes in her final days, but her biggest wish is for her loved ones to take the time to truly enjoy their families and friends, and to fully enjoy life. Go to the beach, go to the mountains, go to the grocery store…just go with someone you love and enjoy it. There is no greater gift than those who share your life, except for life itself.
We invite you to join us to celebrate Dawn’s beautiful life on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 11:00AM at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo), with burial to follow at Salem Cemetery in Calera. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00 until 8:00PM at Rockco.
