Myra Ann Smith Hare, age 74, of Montevallo, Alabama passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021. Myra was born July 2, 1947 to Roy Joseph and Hazel Derise Barrilleux in Jeanertte, Louisiana, where she was raised with 6 siblings. Myra was full of life and laughter. She brought a good time where ever she went, and you could not help but smile when you were around her. Myra loved to travel and in her younger years visited as many foreign countries as she could. She was known for her Cajun cooking, loved old country music, dancing, and singing; and did so as if no one was watching. She was not the type to hold her tongue, and was well known for her headstrong and sassy attitude. She spent her life working hard so that she could live life to the fullest. She was a baker at Walmart for many years. More importantly she was a mother to two wonderful children and the best Nu her 4 grands could ask for. Myra was a member of St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church in Montevallo, Alabama. She was devoted in her faith to the Lord and even in her final days would not miss her daily rosaries. We know today that she looks down on us from Heaven.
Myra is preceded in death by her parents, Roy Joseph and Hazel Derise Barrilleaux; and dearly missed sister, Maxine Marie Barrilleaux.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Jared James Smith (Amanda) of Calera, AL and Jolie Jeanne Smith Bell (Mark) of West Blocton, AL; grandchildren, Coty, Christopher, and Kaylee Smith of Calera, AL, and Natalie Bell Wildman (Cody) of West Blocton, AL; siblings, Ronald Barrilleaux (Gwen) of Thibodeaux, La, Johanna Barrilleaux Bourgeois (Langdon) of Jeanerette, LA, Gerard Barrilleaux (Mary Francis) of Greenwell Springs, LA, Vicky Barrilleaux Lowry of Broussard, LA, and Tracy Barrilleaux Landry (Brad) of New Iberia, LA; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Myra was one of a kind, she was generous, loving, and unique. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
A visitation for Myra will be held Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home, Montevallo, Alabama followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Myra will be laid to rest at Montevallo City Cemetery on Thursday September 9, 2021
