Patricia Alice Elder

ELDER, PATRICIA ALICE- Montevallo resident Patricia Alice Elder, who was born January 29, 1928, in Nevada, Missouri, died February 9, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 20, at University Baptist Church in Montevallo. Rev. Chuck Strong will officiate.

Before moving to Montevallo, Pat lived in Ottawa, Kansas, where she was a member of Ottawa First Baptist Church. She owned and operated a fabric store in Garnett, Kansas. Prior to moving to Ottawa, the family lived in Boaz, Alabama where she was a member of Boaz First Baptist Church and served as their pianist and organist. She became a member at University Baptist Church when they moved to Montevallo, Alabama. She was an active member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, an organization dedicated helping women advance through education throughout the world. She was also active as an adult leader and board member in Girl Scouts, eventually receiving their highest honor, the Thanks Badge.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lee Elder; her daughter, Mary Lou Williams; parents, Floyd and Eunice McElroy; brother, Wayne McElroy; and her grandson, Joseph Michael House. She is survived by daughter, Lea Ann Elder Webb (Jim) and son-in-law, Joe Williams; grandchildren, Beth Williams House (Mike), Scottie Williams English and Holder Nevins (Kendra); step grandchildren, Joe Webb (Laura) and Robin Webb Sweeney (Gerald); great-grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth House, and Harper, Morgan, Emerson and Porter Nevins.
