Peggy Sue Hatter

She enjoyed reading, needle work, and playing canasta with her sisters. Peggy was beyond empathetic and she took care of many people in her lifetime. She fostered many children in Texas and in Alabama. Peggy was also an avid animal lover. She was a supportive military spouse for 30 years to her husband who served in the Army.

She is survived by her children, Andrew Bayne (Ema) and Richard Hatter; 8 grandchildren and a multitude of foster children; siblings, Edna Johns, Hilda Howell, Rebecca Crowson, Benjaman Smith (Mary Ann), Mary Jarvis, and James Smith (Fay); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, William Howard Hatter and her parents.

A celebration of life for Peggy will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo), 3715 Highway 25, Montevallo, Alabama 35115.
