

Rachel Horn Haynie of Alabaster, AL passed away April 27, 2026. Rachel was born May 29, 1942 into a large family, one of six kids. Rachel and her family lived in Irvine, KY, where she stayed until she met the love of her life, Billy Jack Haynie. Rachel and Bill were married in 1963, beginning a beautiful love story that spanned 60 devoted years. Their bond never faded, and even after Bill’s passing on April 30, 2023, Rachel’s love for him remained steadfast. Now, they are reunited once more, together again.
Rachel’s most cherished role in life was being a mother and grandmother. Her life was deeply rooted in family. Over the years, her home has housed not only her two sons but grandchildren and great-grandchildren alike. Rachel and Bill shared a love of travel and adventure, touring the country in their RV and even making the journey all the way to Alaska. For many years, they cherished time
at their second home in Gulf Shores, where Rachel enjoyed watching Bill fish while she relaxed with her feet in the sand. Rachel also dedicated 15 years of her life to the Shelby County School System, a reflection of her commitment to serving others.
Rachel is survived by sons, Billy Haynie (Kelly) and Ray Haynie (Micheala); grandchildren, Heather Barrow (Josh), Courtney Haynie, Kelsey Cranmer (Brandon), Andrew Haynie, Jacob Haynie (Sara) and Travis Haynie; great-grandchildren, Jacqueline Bowser, Artemis Haynie, Emmet Arellano, Lyanna Stewart, Natasha Arellano, Gunner Cranmer, Mackenzie Barrow, Riggs Cranmer and Charles Haynie; brother, Andrew Horn; numerous nieces, nephews and others who loved her.
Rockco Funeral Home in Montevallo will host visitation Thursday, April 30, 2026 from 11:30 am -12:30 pm followed by a funeral service at 12:30 pm. A committal service will follow at 2:00 pm at Alabama National Cemetery, 3133 Highway 119, Montevallo, AL 35115.
