Richard “Dick” Posey, age 94, of Alabaster, passed away on June 20, 2016, at home surrounded by his family. Dick was a US Army veteran, serving during World War II as an Army Ranger. He was a member of the American Legion Post 138. Dick was preceded in death by his sons, Thomas A. Posey and Rodney Harrison Posey; three brothers; and three sisters. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bonnie Sue McCombs Posey; son, Thurman Glenn Posey (Diane); step-daughter, Vicki Brandenburg (Steve); step-son, Dicki Honeycutt; ten grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2016 from 1:00-2:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo), with his funeral service to begin at 2:00 PM. The committal service will be at 2:45 PM at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo. Pastor Rick Swing will officiate.
