Rocio Contreras Vega

Rocio Contreras Vega, age 52, of Hueytown, Alabama was taken from her family on Thursday, September 4, 2025. She was a manager of McLemore Building Maintenance for several years, where she loved her work family and they loved her. Rocio was a breast cancer survivor who loved life. She was always smiling, laughing, singing and dancing. She loved gardening and expressed her love to her family with her amazing meals. She was known far and wide for her delicious tamales. She enjoyed tending to her birds of all kinds. Rocio's fondest memories were of days spent at the beach with family. She absolutely loved and adored her grandchildren, and indulged their every wish.

She was preceded in death by her infant son, Baby Contreras. Left to treasure her memory are her children, Daniel Moreno, Julie Perea (Jonathan), Wendy Contreras (Josmar) and Miguel A. Torres, Jr.; grandchildren, Marissa Grace Moreno, Daniel Jr. Moreno, Aleena Marie Perea, Aryanna Faith Perea, Layla Rose Moreno, Eliana Rosalie Francisco and Adalie Francisco; mother, Emilia Vega Torres; father, Carlos Contreras Rodriguez; sisters, Lillia Garcia (Rigoberto), Martha Alarcon (Marcos), Angelica Alarcon (Eduardo), and Olivia Alarcon; brothers, Alejandro Alarcon (Ana), Jorge Alarcon (Teresa), Miguel Angel Alarcon, and Oliver Alarcon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 12:00 PM Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo), 3715 Highway 25, Montevallo, AL 35115, with visitation to begin at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Montevallo City Cemetery. Guests are encouraged to wear black in her memory and are welcome to bring floral tributes.
