

Ronald "Ronnie" Chambers Yeager, age 91, of Clanton, Alabama passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024. Ronnie served in the United States Army as a radio maintenance operator and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He also served in Germany during the Korean War and earned the Army of Occupation Medal. Following discharge, Ronnie accepted a job with Godwin Radio in Birmingham, Alabama. In 1967, he started his own business, Rickwood Radio Service, which expanded to three locations over the next 47 years.
In 1974, Ronnie met the love of his life, Harriet, and they married the same year. They lived an eventful life full of traveling all over the world from the United States to Hong Kong to Hawaii. He loved to fish, but refused to eat them. Ronnie loved to eat a delicious surf and turf with his many family, friends, and colleagues. He was a talented musician and enthusiastic Alabama fan.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Harriet Yeager; sister-in-law, Faye Henry; good friend, Nancy Stone; first cousin, Oscar Chambers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, William and Florence Yeager; and brother, William "Billy" N. Yeager, Jr.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024 from 11:30 AM until 1:30 PM at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo), 3715 Hwy 25, Montevallo, AL 35115. A committal service will follow at 2:00 PM at Alabama National Cemetery, 3133 Hwy 119, Montevallo, AL 35115.
