Steven "Steve" Clay Ray, age 48, of Wilton, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 from severe cerebral palsy. He was born in Clanton, Alabama to Frances and S.C. Ray, and graduated from Linda Nolen Learning Center. Loud noises always made him laugh which got him into trouble in the classroom. Steve loved eggs and Bama grape jelly, strawberry ice cream, and dollar bills.
The family would like to thank the staff and doctors of Diversicare of Bessemer and Compassus Hospice.
He was preceded in death by his father, S. C. Ray. Steve is survived by his mother, Frances Ray; sisters,Tammy Ray, Mary Ann Wallace, Wanda Ray and Christy Ray; brother, S. C. Ray, Jr.; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and his puppy, Baby.
The family will have a memorial gathering on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 11, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Nanny Ray's house in Wilton, Alabama.
