Born the oldest of eight children in Somerset, England, Susan carried the strength, responsibility, and heart of a big sister throughout her life. She shared a lifelong bond with her siblings: Ivan (Kathy) Rasco, Glenda (Carl) Vonnoh, Molly (Michael) Battles, Tracy L. Rasco, Melissa (Mike) Richardson, Linda (Larry) Phillips, and Wendy Sanders. As the eldest, Susan was a steady presence — protective, compassionate, and deeply loving.
Susan was the devoted wife of Guy McClinton, her steadfast partner and greatest love. Together they built a life rooted in faith, resilience, laughter, and unwavering commitment. Susan was a proud and loving mother to Eddie Atchley, Angie (Bill) Bryant, and Jon Atchley. Her children were her heart, and she guided them with wisdom, grace, and fierce devotion.
Professionally, Susan was a respected leader who served as Vice President of Western National Property Management. She believed deeply in developing others, mentoring with patience and strength, and leading with integrity. Susan's influence extended far beyond her title — she shaped careers and inspired confidence in countless individuals.
Susan's greatest joy, however, was her family. She leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren who will forever cherish her warm hugs, steady prayers, and the way she made each of them feel uniquely special.
An intimate viewing will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Rockco Funeral Home in Montevallo, Alabama.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Amedisys Hospice for their compassionate care, kindness, and support during her final days.
Susan will be remembered for her quiet strength, enduring faith, generous heart, and the legacy of love she leaves behind. She will be missed beyond words and remembered beyond measure.
