Truman Julius Davis, age 92, of Atlanta, Georgia passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023. He grew up in Stone Mountain, Georgia and following graduation, he served in the US Air Force, stationed in France. He retired from Delta Air Lines after 35 years as a purchasing agent. He earned a law degree from Woodrow Wilson School of Law in Atlanta. He served as Elder in the PCA Church, taught Sunday School and served on mission trips. He enjoyed golfing, camping, snow skiing, water skiing and ping pong. Most of all, he loved spoiling his sweetheart, Mary Anne.
He was preceded in death by his father, Noah Truman Davis; mother, Janie Marie Sexton; stepmother, Edith Marie Huffman; sister, Edna Bryan; and great-granddaughter, Chappell Grace Richardson. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Anne Davis; son, Jim Davis (Jenny); daughter, Julie Davis Kaal (Peter); granddaughters, Bethany Davis Smart (Matt), Callie Davis Richardson (Brett), Hannah Davis Howard (Josh) and Colbie Davis Harmon (Duncan); grandsons, JP Kaal (Megan), Michael Kaal (Heather) and Matthew Kaal; great-grandchildren, McKinley Howard, Natalie Smart, Davis Howard, Caroline Kaal, Cooper Kaal, Luke Richardson, Cameron Kaal, Hank Richardson, Parker Kaal, Wally Harmon and Kate Kaal; sisters, Eleanor Fields And Carol Milton; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Friday, October 27, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home, 3715 Highway 25, Montevallo, Alabama 35115. His funeral service will occur Friday, October 27, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home with a reception to follow. A graveside service will occur Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 1:00 PM EST at Midway Cemetery, 4635 Dallas Hwy, Powder Springs, GA. Guests are invited to join the family at 12:00 PM at Midway Presbyterian Church pavilion for a light lunch prior to the graveside service.
