

Victor Arthur Binkerd, a hard-working, wise, beloved, brave, skilled, and creative man, passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack on October 9, 2025, at the age of 60. Born on December 11, 1964, in Georgia to John and Sandra Binkerd, Victor was raised in Mountain Brook, AL, and Shelby, AL. He graduated from Shelby County High School and served in the US Army, where he was stationed in Fort Greely, Alaska.
Victor was a dedicated family man who met his future wife, Misty, on June 24, 1992, and committed himself to building her a fairy tale life. He always made her feel loved beyond measure. Together, they built The Sterling Castle, a wedding venue in Shelby, Alabama, where they also lived and raised their children.
Victor was preceded in death by his brother, Bryan Elliott Binkerd, his father, John Elliott Binkerd, and his grandparents, Art Price and Rasie Price. He is survived by his loving wife, Misty; his mother, Sande Bridenbaugh; his children, Brea Belflower (Shelby Baldwin), Tabatha Murphy, Christian Binkerd (Anna), Brennan Binkerd (Kelsi), and Saren Binkerd; and his grandchildren, Lilyth Joiner, Taylor Murphy, Violet Bentley, Skylar Binkerd, Samwise Bentley, and Sterling Binkerd. He also leaves behind his siblings, Jon Binkerd (Shelbi), Roy Binkerd (Angela), Chad Bridenbaugh, Krystine Gish (Patrick), and Catherine Alexander, as well as his sister-in-law, Tammi Binkerd, numerous nieces and nephews, and his prized Pyrenees, Loki and Luna.
Victor was known for his love of dancing, building, and his old Dodge truck. He was an artisan and a master tinkerer, with a passion for woodworking, sketching, and creating projects. He enjoyed his involvement as a Dream Maker for the Special Needs Prom, where he built large props for the past 10 years. Victor was cherished for his honest advice, his legendary hugs, and his role as a knight in shining armor to those who knew him.
He wanted to be remembered most for driving the hell out of a Bobcat.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Sterling Castle, in the Timber Frame Chapel, located at 389 Deseret Drive, Shelby, Alabama, 35143. The service will take place on Monday, October 20, 2025, from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
