Walter David LaGrone

David was born in Selma, Alabama and worked at Westinghouse in Montevallo, Alabama making welding rods.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Dave LaGrone and Virgie Ellene LaGrone; son-in-law, Rudy Hayes; and sisters, Mabel Traylor and Nellie Ree Lovejoy.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Peggy C. LaGrone for 69 years; daughters, Betty L. McGee (Leonard), Ann L Hayes (Rudy), and Joyce L Butler (Clarence); grandchildren, David Allen McGee (Candi) Kelly Chapman, and Wade Eady (Tara); great-grandchildren, Cloie Chapman, Brooke Hayes (Treylon), Matthew Chapman, AJ McGee, and Justin McGee; great-great-grandchildren, Kaelynn “KK” Hayes, and Nolin Eady; sister, Rosa Lee Caver; sister-in-law, Glenda Cook (Bob); and numerous nieces and nephews.

At his request, he was laid to rest with a private family service at Six Mile Cemetery in Brierfield, Alabama. Pall Bearers were Leonard McGee, Clarence Butler, Allen McGee, Matthew Chapman, AJ McGee, Justin McGee, and Treylon Hayes.

He loved his family and was a great Husband, Dad, and Pop to all of his grandchildren. They all have special memories of their times spent with him. He always loved to see the babies visit him and was so excited to meet our new little one that is due in July, KK’s little brother, Kacen Hayes.
