Bill is preceded by his parents Henry Randolph and Pearl Cain Taylor and brother Jerome Taylor.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 51 years, Anne Wilkerson Taylor; sons, Randy (Heather) Taylor, Matthew (Leigh-ann) Taylor, and Jason (Heather) Taylor; and grandchildren James, Nathan, Joe, Gus, Judd, Gordon, Zoe, Vivienne, Hanna, and Ruby.
Bill was a Staff Sergeant with the United Stated Air Force where he was awarded a Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award, National Defense Service Medal, and the Air Force Medal. After Bill served his duty to our country, he established a career working on nuclear power plants, moving his family 18 times in 18 years along the way. Bill loved to work outside; he was a handyman who could fix almost anything. He passed on his knowledge and passion to his sons while teaching them to hold the light and grab the right tools. He was also a proud member of the NRA. In his retirement, he enjoyed visiting every Waffle House he could find. He loved his children and especially enjoyed being Pawpaw to his grandchildren. Bill made a lasting impression on all those who knew him. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
A visitation for Bill will be held Thursday, January 2, 2020, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home, Montevallo, Alabama, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. A committal service will occur Thursday, January 2, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo, Alabama.
