William Elvin "Sam" Wilson
July 19, 1936 – May 14, 2019
William Elvin “Sam” Wilson, age 82, of Randolph, Alabama, passed away on May 14, 2019. Sam was raised in Stumps Hill, near Jemison, by his parents, William Evan Wilson and Fannie Elizabeth Bice Wilson. He started as a young boy, farming in the fields with his Dad. He worked hard all his life to take care of his family. He was a jack-of-all-trades and loved to go fishing. He was more than generous with his help and was always there to help his family when needed. He loved to a fault. He was blessed with the first of his great-great grandchildren on April 21, 2019. Sam was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kenneth Randall Wilson; grandson, Kevin Randall Wilson; and all six of his siblings. He is survived by two sons, William Earl “Pedro” Wilson and Alan Wayne Wilson (Amanda); daughter, Wanda Sue “Susie” Batte (Steve); mother of his children, Leverne Pickett Tucker; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Blankenship (Luke), Ashley McCoy, Aaron Batte (Megan), Kristy Wilson, Derek Wilson, Patrick “Bear” Wilson (April), Jaylee Wilson, Ethan Wilson and Sara Ann Wilson; seventeen great-grandchildren, Samantha Cochran, Skyler Laird, Sidney Laird, Gavin Blankenship, Jewel McCoy, Brayden Batte, Acen Batte, Alden Batte, Travis Wilson, Isaac Wilson, Alexandria Wilson, Hunter Robertson, Aubree Robertson, Jace Robertson, Kynlee Robertson, Anthony Wilson, and Haley Wilson; two great-great grandchildren, Hartlee Rose and Jace Reese and one soon to be arrived great-great grandchild, Carson Rhett. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo). His funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo), with the family to receive friends beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery in Pea Ridge. His family members will serve as pallbearers, as well as honorary pallbearer, William Earl “Pedro” Wilson. Bro. Jerry Phillips and Bro. Dewel “Duke” Fulgham will officiate. The family wishes to thank Aldrich Assembly of God for their ministry during this difficult time.
